​About the Role

This role will report to the Guidewire Manager and will play a key role in delivering high-quality solutions across bug fixes, system enhancements, and Guidewire Cloud (Ski) releases.  The Guidewire Developer will support the ongoing development and enhancement of our Guidewire Cloud platform, including ClaimCenter, PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, and ContactManager.

 

The role works within a hybrid support and delivery model, partnering with a third-party vendor to deliver enhancements, defect resolution, and platform upgrades. This role requires strong collaboration, coordination, and ownership to ensure consistent, high-quality outcomes across internal and external teams.

 

The role will work within a cross-functional Agile team alongside Business Analysts, QA, DevOps, Project Management, and Business Excellence to deliver reliable and scalable insurance solutions.

  • Guidewire Digital configurations
  • UI components (web/front-end)
  • Data Transfer Objects (DTOs)
  • Business rules and Gosu logic
  • Typelists and configuration artifacts
  • Unit tests and sample data
  • Technical documentation

Your Experience & Skills

  • A University Degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • 3+ years of development experience working with SaaS and Object Orientated programming, and within an Agile/Scrum environment

 

Preferred Technical Skills

  • Progressive experience with the Guidewire application (Cloud or On-premise)
  • Solid understanding of Java
  • Experience with Gosu configuration and development
  • Experience with Git and branching strategies (e.g., GitFlow, trunk-based development)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving production defects in enterprise applications

 

Note: An equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered.

 

Guidewire Certification Requirements

Candidates are expected to obtain and maintain relevant Guidewire certifications aligned to their role. Certification timelines will be established based on role level and experience, and ongoing maintenance of certification in good standing is required to ensure alignment with Guidewire Cloud platform evolution.
