​About the Role

The Senior Risk Analyst is responsible for providing advanced risk analysis, reporting, and insights to support robust Enterprise Risk Management across the WCB. Reporting to the Manager, Risk this role will gather information from multiple sources, including confidential and sensitive information, and demonstrate deep analytical capabilities. The Senior Risk Analyst acts as a subject matter expert within the Risk function and collaborates closely with executive leadership, business unit leaders, and Audit to support Management in their identification and assessment of risks while enhancing risk reporting and influencing risk culture at WCB.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

•    Contribute to the development and maintenance of enterprise risk management (ERM) methodologies, policies, and standards. 
•    Lead the process to identify, measure, and analyze current and emerging risks to ensure corporate and department risk profiles are relevant, current and forward-looking considering information accumulated from multiple sources (e.g. operational/ business activities, regulatory changes, industry best practices, etc.)
•    Communicate complex risk concepts in a clear, concise manner tailored to executive, operational, and technical audiences.
•    Build and maintain strong relationships across the organization, promoting risk awareness and a partnership-based approach 
•    Conduct department risk assessmentsp
•    Maintain and update the corporate risk register and lead discussions with leadership to assess corporate level residual risk on a quarterly basis, including the identification, assessment and monitoring of emerging risks
•    Prepare quarterly corporate risk reports for executive leadership
•    Lead or participate in strategic projects, transformation initiatives, and regulatory response activities. Other related duties as assigned

Your Experience & Skills

Required

 

•    Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field.
•    5+ years of progressive experience in risk management, risk advisory, risk consulting, internal and/or external audit roles.
•    Professional risk-related certification or designation such as CRM, CPA, or CIA. Candidates nearing completion of their designation may be considered.

 

Preferred


•    Relevant experience from a regulated industry (e.g., insurance, public sector, etc.).
