About the Workers’ Compensation Board of Nova Scotia

About the Role
The WCB Nova Scotia is seeking one (1) Marketing and Communications Co-op student for the Winter 2027 term. The term runs from January 4, 2027, to April 30, 2027, for a period of 17 weeks. The Co-op Student Employment Program aims to provide students with valuable work experience that contributes to their education and helps them gain work experience. The Co-op Student will work with both the Marketing and Communications team to provide support in various areas.
Role Specific Duties
- Create engaging digital content for a variety of channels, including written stories, social media posts, videos, and web content.
- Support the planning and execution of corporate events, campaigns, and communication initiatives, both online and in person.
- Coordinate marketing materials, content requests, and project deliverables to help keep initiatives on track.
- Develop evergreen content that strengthens brand awareness and highlights company culture, services, and key business priorities.
- Capture and produce photography and video content to support storytelling, marketing campaigns, and corporate communications.
- Research, write, and edit compelling content for internal and external audiences across a variety of platforms.
- Collaborate with teams members on creative projects, content development, and strategic communications activities.
Your Experience & Skills
- Have or be completing the first year of a post-secondary program and enrolled in a co-op program (those contacted for an interview will be asked to provide confirmation of enrolment in a co-op program for the winter 2027 semester).
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Possess strong keyboarding skills and be familiar with the use of various computer software/applications and other office technology.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Have a natural ability to build and maintain strong relationships and enjoy interacting with others daily, as well as work independently with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrate time management and organizational skills.
Previous general office, data entry and/or administrative experience is an asset.

We offer a competitive hourly rate of $20.00 per hour.
