​About the Role

Working closely with the Practice Leadership teams to ensure the effective execution of operational processes are followed, the Employer Performance Team Lead (EPTL) supports the delivery of WCB’s external Employer Performance programs and initiatives that enhance overall employer performance, including injury prevention and return-to-work outcomes. 
Reporting to the Manager, Practice Leadership, the EPTL provides: updates on issues ranging from workload, work quality, technical roadblocks, and team dynamics; coaching and feedback to the Managers, Practice Leadership teams and Director, Employer Performance; advice on internal resource demand management; as well as operational support and feedback to managers on the performance metrics of the team (recommendations on performance and discipline), and for the programs within Employer Performance.

 

Specific accountabilities include:


•    Holding coaching conversations with employees, managers and external partners on practice models, and the implementation of these, to create consistency of practice. 
•    Advising the Manager and Director on the progress of coaching efforts, in line with individual and organizational performance, including recommendations on performance management and discipline as needed.
•    Maintaining working relationships with key employers to maintain program and initiatives performance.
•    Maintaining a cooperative working relationships with system partners, safety associations, government organizations such as OH&S.
•    Coordinating program activities, schedules, and deliverables to ensure timely execution between WCB and External Partners.
•    Preparing reports, presentations, and communication materials for internal and external audiences.
•    Supporting partner engagement through project coordination, follow-up, and information sharing.
•    Monitoring program progress and escalate issues or risks as needed.
•    Assisting with data collection and analysis to support program evaluation and continuous improvement.
•    Providing tactical input for resource planning through emerging data trend opportunities.
•    Identifying and contributing to process improvement initiatives within Employer Performance, and driving the quality continuous improvement of processes to ensure efficiency and compliance.
•    Coaching Practice Leadership teams to enhance capability development and process adherence, and help teams address/identify concerns/issues from all levels within a workplace from front line employees up to executive/owner.
•    Conducting jurisdictional research to inform program design and decision-making.
•    Identifying and implementing best practices to strengthen program outcomes.
•    Collaborating internally to ensure the Employer Performance management team is current on employer issues/practices impacting Return to Work Management and Prevention Programs.

 

Other responsibilities include implementing strategic initiatives, monitoring progress, preparing reports, data analysis and insights and supporting overall communication and engagement efforts. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, management and external partners.

Your Experience & Skills

  • A university degree in Business, Social Sciences, Health discipline, or a related field; and,
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in customer/account management, disability case management, return to work, or occupational health and safety related roles; with a minimum of 4 years’ experience working at a senior responsibility level.
  • Progressive experience providing coaching and feedback to key partners (internal and external) would be considered an asset.
